Meet Desmond Hsu, Account Manager at Verve

From Engineering to Entrepreneurship

Desmond’s career started in chemical engineering and consulting, where he discovered a passion for building new ventures from the ground up. Eager to explore entrepreneurial opportunities, he joined a company led by Clearspace CEO Mark Goh that integrated wireless charging into commercial furniture. This role gave Desmond his first deep dive into the world of commercial real estate and workplace design. Working with top-tier clients like Google, Nike, McKinsey, and other major headquarters across America, he saw firsthand what cutting-edge workspaces looked like—and where the gaps were.

Through that experience, the team recognized a huge opportunity: while large enterprises had access to beautifully designed, tech-enabled spaces, growing mid-market companies were often left behind.

That insight became the spark for Verve.

Building Verve, One Step at a Time

Desmond was one of the driving forces behind Verve’s creation. Alongside the founding team, he helped turn a bold idea into a real business—launching Verve to bring better furniture solutions to growing companies. From day one, he took ownership of sales for the commercial furniture side of the business. His focus is on making connections, earning trust, and helping clients find the right solutions for their spaces, while supporting Verve’s mission to redefine how furniture is delivered to the mid-market.

When Not Closing Deals

Outside of work, Desmond is passionate about staying active. He plays tennis, soccer, loves biking, and makes the most of summer days out in the sun. He is a devoted basketball fan, and enjoys watching the game with the people that he loves.

He brings the same energy, focus, and competitiveness to work, and is always looking for ways to improve.

The Future of Verve

Looking ahead, Desmond sees a big future for Verve. He envisions the company becoming a fully independent furniture dealership with a diverse client base, serving not only major broker accounts but also design firms, builders, and tenants directly. For that to happen, he knows that the foundation has to be strong, which means continuing to refine Verve’s processes and capabilities. He is confident that with the right team and strategy, Verve can deliver on its promise to make better furniture solutions and services available for more people.
